What Does It Take To Be The Mayor Of Chicago?

During its Afternoon Shift program last Thursday, WBEZ-FM posed that question to BGA policy analyst Alden Loury and Sun-Times columnist and ABC7 Chicago political analyst Laura Washington.

Loury and Washington shared their thoughts on the qualities that have drawn voters to some of Chicago's mayors and some other qualities that have turned them off. Fairness, accountability, integrity, transparency, honesty and efficiency — the BGA's principles — are among the things Chicago residents should look for in its mayor, said Loury.
