Andrew Schroedter was a senior investigator at the BGA, responsible for covering, among other topics, criminal justice, municipal finance and city and suburban government. His investigative projects were featured in the Chicago Sun-Times, CBS2, NBC5, among others, and been referenced by The New York Times, The New Yorker, CNN, The Economist, National Public Radio and more.
He is the recipient of the prestigious Herman Kogan Media Award and numerous other accolades. Before joining the BGA in 2011, he contributed to Crain’s Chicago Business, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Daily Herald, as well as Chicago magazine and other publications.
A native of the Chicago area, Schroedter graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature. He lives in Chicago with his wife and two children.
