Former Vice President, Development
Lora Nickels was responsible for all aspects of fundraising, which accounts for 100% of the revenue at the BGA. Leading the development team, and partnering closely with board members, she oversees the Annual Luncheon, major gifts, donor stewardship, campaign planning and a full calendar of events and appeals.
Before joining the BGA, Lora spent 10 years at The Field Museum securing major gifts to support exhibitions, scientific research and education programs. There she helped the institution to raise their fundraising sights as they embarked on their latest campaign, landing the first two eight-figure gifts from individuals in the Field's history. Prior to that, she worked in major gift fundraising and alumni relations at the University of Chicago.
Lora is a proud graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University and received her Masters In Non-Profit Administration from North Park University. She lives in Wrigleyville with her husband and two children.
