NewsLit Camp

The Better Government Association is proud to be taking part in the News Literacy Project‘s NewsLit Camp Friday, Feb. 5. Designed for educators, the free event will prepare them to identify and understand news media bias and teach others to recognize misinformation.
Investigations director John Chase and senior investigative reporter Alejandra Cancino will join colleagues from Block Club Chicago, Chicago Defender, ProPublica Illinois, and Rockford Register Star to present sessions. They’ll share insights with teachers on the characteristics of quality journalism and the media’s important role in holding government accountable.
