ACTION ALERT: Urge “NO” Vote on Bad FOIA Bill
Will you ask your state lawmaker to vote against SB 2799, a bad bill that will damage everyday people’s ability to be a government watchdog by limiting access to taxpayer-owned records that everyone is entitled to review under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act?
This action, sponsored by State Rep. Barbara Flynn Currie, is rushing through the General Assembly’s short-lived veto session that’s now underway. It must be stopped!
You can make a difference by telling your state representatives to vote against SB 2799 in the House and the Senate.
Our lawmakers need to hear from you immediately—please tell them to end this attack on the public’s right to know.
