ACTION ALERT: Support legislation to send every registered voter a postage-paid mail-in ballot.

The General Assembly is considering temporary changes to election law in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  We need your help to ensure a safe and fair election on Nov. 3.

SB 1863 would require local election authorities to send a ballot application to those who voted in the 2018, 2019 or 2020 elections. This bill does not go far enough.

The BGA is urging lawmakers to send a ballot — not just an application — to all registered voters. This approach would require fewer resources while reaching more eligible voters.

Illinois cannot risk a repeat of the disruptions that occurred in the primary election due to COVID-19. Last-minute poll closures led to long lines, big crowds and widespread confusion. These circumstances put voters and poll workers in danger.

Please contact your state representative and senator and Governor J.B. Pritzker and tell them to support legislation to send every registered voter a postage-paid mail-in ballot.

Take Action
